Global Switch has announced today that it has successfully achieved multiple ISO accreditations across all its facilities.

Global Switch owns and operates ten world-class data centres, including one of EXN’s core sites, Global Switch London 2 (East). With all facilities built to a minimum of Tier 3 standard and now as the first large scale data centre provider in Europe and Asia Pacific to become fully ISO certified, the company looks set to maintain its market leading position.

The ISO certification was part of Global Switch’s Critical Environments Programme, launched in 2012, which by combining industry and Global Switch best practices created a world class standardised and structured approach to its operational environment.

We understand that the success of our business is driven by the continual improvement in the quality of the service we offer our customers, our impact on the environment, the regard for our employees, and the constant management of business risks. Completing certification of these four standards at each of our data centres at the scale we operate is a great achievement that reconfirms are absolute commitment to providing world class data centre solutions.
John Corcoran, Executive Chairman and CEO, Global Switch

While EXN’s suites within Global Switch 2 East have always been ISO 27001 certified, the additional certifications are indeed good news for existing occupiers and potential customers alike.

The certifications were gained in the following areas:

ISO 9001:2008 defines a quality management system a company needs in order help manage a business effectively and to incorporate best practice methodology.
ISO 14001:2004 requires an environmental management system which enables a company to manage its environmental responsibilities.
OHSAS 18001:2007 defines the best practice requirements for occupational health and safety management.
ISO 27001:2013 provides a systematic approach to security information management.
